Second Look is a photographic association set up & run by volunteers.
Founded in Jan 2008 by 6 Bristol Photographers Second Look is intended to promote creative photography in Bristol.
Run by volunteers & boasting over 50 members, Second Look puts on public events designed to encourage participation in the discipline as well as showcasing the photographic work of its members. As well as running 6 public exhibitions of members work in 2009, Second Look has also launched a dedicated Second Look website & run two very successful public events. In May '09 the first ever Second Look Photomarathon attracted over 100 entrants & raised enough funds to pay for the big free photo competition in the summer 'Bristol A Second Look 2009'. In its second year, Bristol A Second Look received 75 entries & over 1,000 people voted to help choose the winner.
In 2010 Second Look is looking forward to running 4 more group exhibitions (one for each season), they will also be getting energetically involved with Bristol’s first ever Festival of Photography, with a huge Photomarathon & a group show planned for the event. Summer 2010 will see Bristol a Second Look in its third year & we’re hoping it will be bigger & better than ever.

Promoting Creative Photography
"We set up Second Look in order to promote creative photography in Bristol, to help photographers to work together and to run public events that would raise the profile of Bristol photography. We've had a great year since forming in Jan '08 and loads of people have already contacted us with suggestions for making Second Look better in 2010." Lisa Furness, Chair/Coordinator
